PERSPECTIVE NOOK

Karaoke
My mom and I have always wanted to but never tried karaoke. Karaoke sounded like so much fun, but I guess stage fright and lack of opportunity has kept us away. NOT ANYMORE! We felt that adrenaline rush and there's no going back. So, our community had a few karaoke nights (hosted by Toiya Entertainment.) The first one we were very nervous for but with a bit of liquid courage, we got up there and had an absolute ball. Our first night, we sang Bon Jovi and Eurythmics. We sounde

Gatorland...
A few weekends ago, I visited Gatorland. Here's my experience. Enjoy! Gatorland is a surprisingly large rescue attraction with bobcats, goats, capybaras, snakes, turtles, birds, foxes, panthers, monitors, insects, crocodiles, and of course tons of gators. They also have various shows, a sweetshop, splash pad, restaurant, zipline, train ride, observation tower, and swamp ride. Right as you walk in, there are sunning alligators galore. As you make your way past the entrance, yo

The Dancing Empanada
Enjoy this short and sweet recommendation! ;););) At my old apartment complex, they would have various food trucks come in, where you could buy breakfast or dinner depending on the truck. The Dancing Empanada was one of those DELICIOUS food truck experiences. Offering a variety of flavors for your sweet tooth or salty fix. Now, I love an empanada, so I tried four of them for around $20 altogether. I tried their sausage pizza, buffalo chicken, apple pie, and classic beef. They

The Tiki Bar and Grill
The Tiki Bar and Grill is a hidden oasis in Minneola, FL. This restaurant is situated on the edge of Lake Minneola and to the right of the historic Lake Minneola Inn founded in 1882. Boats come and go, gliding on the water adding to the serenity. The views are spectacular at sunset as one might imagine. Their tiki totchos are delicious, covered in cheese, green onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, and sour cream on a bed of crispy tots! I have yet to try their famous burgers but hear

F-A-R-T-S (so far)
How many of us LOVE the Disney festivals? I can't see you, but I'll just assume all of us. I know I definitely do, though I can't decide which one is my favorite. Currently, Festival of the Arts is happening. (FARTS for short!) This is a fun, unique festival that launched in 2017. There is so much to explore at this colorful festival. From the beautiful art, aesthetic (and tasty) food, talented performers, merchandise, and literal artists to sign/sketch on bought artwork. My

Mount Dora FL
Mount Dora FL's downtown area is a quaint, beautiful, and bustling spot. With shops, a pottery studio, dessert places, restaurants, and more. I visited last month when the Christmas lights/decorations were still up. Christmas makes everything more magical, but Mount Dora does it best. There are plenty of photo ops next to Santa, or wearing his massive boots, or a family of snowmen. My favorite was the giant, gorgeous trees with white and blue lights dripping down. Some neat n

Trans-Siberian Orchestra
So, this past weekend, I had the privilege of taking my mom to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra for her birthday. It was better than I could have imagined. Enjoy! To start off, it was my mom's birthday last Saturday the 13th. Seeing this particular show, live, has been on her bucket list for a long time. We watched them perform at the Kia Center in downtown Orlando. This was a little hectic, as is with any concert, game, etc. We arrived about 40 minutes before the actual concert

Casey Key
I hope everyone had a safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I just returned from a great, Halloween weekend getaway to Casey Key. This trip was with my mom, her friends, and me at the cutest VRBO (at reasonable price for this time of year.) They had recently traveled to Siesta Key/Sanibel Island and drove through this adorable beachside community. A trip was planned. Here I am to tell you why you should consider/go to Casey Key. Enjoy! Casey Key is located between Venice, FL and Sarasota
