My mom and I are dinner theater nerds, so Capone's dinner and show was definitely a must. We visited this mob themed restaurant and show with great friends in 2023! This dinner theater is always a great mob theme with characters decked out in boas, flapper dresses, fedoras, and of course thick Boston accents. You may even see a fake gun or two, as you are hurled into their gangster lifestyle. So, at the door is where your immersion starts, you are given a ticket and your "secret code" as well as a store where you can buy hats, boas, and such to fit the vibe. You can also dress up for this occasion with your family and friends. A personal favorite for me was the speakeasy where you knock thrice and speak your secret code and Boda Bing Boda Boom, you're in and wanted? (put em' up!) They take your mug shot photo, which later on become a souvenir that you can purchase as a keychain, newspaper article, or case file. I also want to say this place is massive and beautiful. Once you are a felon, (wink, wink) you climb stairs to enter their lounge area. You can indulge in an alcoholic beverage or non-alcoholic. Here is where we met are awesome waiter, Vito. Once you get your drinks, you head back downstairs to your table. You of course look over the menu and pick your favorites, lasagna, spaghetti, ravioli, etc. While you're eating, you hear your waiters and waitresses converse about gangster things, romances, and busting each other, and your chops. (Which I thought was hilarious.) A few other things that are worth mentioning is that they do push drinks on you, if you are indulging, and you do get time to eat and enjoy the atmosphere before you're about to watch. Once you are full well stuffed, with food and all you can drink, the show begins! I don't want to spoil it but there's singing, dancing, audience participations, and a giant pineapple! (I'll let you come to your own conclusions.) Now we come to the unfortunate news, Capone's is temporarily closed. I went to their website to find more information and saw that they were just relocating. (They were previously located in Kissimmee Florida.) So, we luckily won't be sad for long. I'm not sure at the moment where they are moving but hope to see soon and keep you posted! I would say this show is worth a visit even if you aren't a dinner theater nerd! Until Next Time!
Fun Fact: The idea of dinner theaters can be traced back to the Elizabethan Era (Shakespeare's time.)
This was such a fun night! It’s a must do for sure.
