Karaoke

My mom and I have always wanted to but never tried karaoke. Karaoke sounded like so much fun, but I guess stage fright and lack of opportunity has kept us away. NOT ANYMORE! We felt that adrenaline rush and there's no going back.

So, our community had a few karaoke nights (hosted by Toiya Entertainment.) The first one we were very nervous for but with a bit of liquid courage, we got up there and had an absolute ball. Our first night, we sang Bon Jovi and Eurythmics. We sounded very bad and giggled the whole way through. There were so many talented and brave solo singers. Everyone was very entertaining, watching and singing at top volume was my favorite part about that night.

Our second karaoke night rolled around and my mom and I were ready. Seriously, I now have a whole playlist just for karaoke in my phone. (We're taking this seriously, lol.) I have to say, this night I feel like we killed it! Less nerves and better vocals. We sung Whitesnake, Journey, Joan Jett, Billy Joel, and Bruno Mars. We also learned Uptown Funk is our song, we sing it really well and everyone gets up and dances. Seeing all this community so happy, carefree, and enjoying the music was my favorite part of the second night. We're pretty good singers too!

I highly recommend karaoke to anyone who hasn't tried it. Bring a friend up or do it solo, whatever makes you comfortable. Also, find a host like Toiya. She's fun, upbeat, outgoing, and encouraging. She wants to party and have a good time. Literally, she stayed until 11:00pm on both nights playing line dance music and such. (She was only slated to be there until 9:00pm.) I can't wait until our next karaoke night! Until next time. Bye!
