Alrighty, so this is going to be a bite size story. I hope you enjoy!
I really blocked this story out until I saw a Chuck E Cheese near me. My mom had taken my half-brother and I to Chuck E Cheese. My half-brother was born from my dad's previous relationship. He would come to Arkansas to visit from time to time. We were both super young in this story. Chuck E Cheese has an arcade, slides, pizza, and the most "iconic" The Munch's Party Time Band. I wanted to know all their names. (Yes, I did look them up, so you don't have to.) Ok, so we have Pasqually P. Pieplate hitting those drums, Mr. Munch tickling the keys, Jasper T. Jowls strumming the guitar, and Cheese himself and Helen Henny serenading us.
On to the good stuff. My brother and I went off playing. He was on the slide; I wanted to emulate him, so I went on the slide as well. He moved on, and I stayed on the slide. I slid over and over again. Until I was stopped in my tracks. Time stood still as I slowly lifted my gaze from his big red shoes to his legs, to his purple jersey, to his plastered smiling face. I let out the biggest SCREAM and ran to my mom, who was sitting at a table nearby. She had watched the whole thing.
This was one of my earliest experiences with mascots. I have not stepped a toe near Chuck E. Cheese since. Until next time! Bye.
Fun Fact: The E in Chuck E. Cheese stands for Entertainment.
