The Gaylord ICE Exhibit

So, a couple years ago, my mom and I visited the Gaylord hotel in Texas. We went for a specific reason, ICE! That year, I think 2017/2018 was featuring a Charlie Brown Christmas. We were blown away. Enjoy!
We had seen a few commercials about this event and decided this year to go. The Gaylord is such a massive, fancy, and ridiculously expensive hotel. (Hence, we stayed in a hotel in the area.) With it being so huge, it's also a bit of a maze. Once inside, we explored a little and finally found the exhibit's signs. ICE is presented in a colossal room; there wasn't even enough in there to fill it. What filled this space was a hot chocolate station, food area, gift shop, info about the many ice artists, and of course, the ICE room itself.
Before you get to experience the beautiful sculptures, they gear you up in these heavy, giant, insulated blue jackets. I'm 5'7 and it went past my knees. They keep the room at around 9 degrees Fahrenheit. You can see your breath as you walk through nostalgic Charlie Brown scenes. Snoopy's infamous doghouse, the peanut crew skating, the Charlie Brown tree, you name it. You also have a chance to slide down a giant ice slide! (I did take this opportunity and froze my bum off, which was SOOO worth it!) This walkthrough only lasts about 30 minutes and sadly we have to leave our frozen tundra with Charlie Brown and return to reality.
Once out, we looked through the gift shop and decided to get Charlie Brown and Lucy salt and pepper shakers, glasses with "ICE" on them, and a few shirts. We tried the hot chocolate, which you can never go wrong with (or mess up.) And went back to our hotel to order food and watch movies.
I do highly recommend this experience. The price will vary, depending on when you decide to go. This also runs beginning of December until early January. This will definitely put you in the Christmas if you decide to go. Let me know if you do go or have gone and what you thought about it in the comments below. Until next time. Bye!
Lesson Learned: No cold I've experienced, feels quite like 9 degrees.
