Halloween in Disney....

I haven't written a story about Disney in a hot minute, let's rectify that. My boyfriend and I visited Disney last weekend, while Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party was happening. Over our stay, it rained both Friday and Saturday (perks of Florida) and I was reminded of this story. Enjoy!

To start, my mom and I would visit Disney World almost every September after 2015. (Read First Disney trip: Waterlogged if you haven't.) We would have trips sprinkled in of different months but for the most part, September. With this, our trips were during the rainy/hurricane season. This time of the year was normally, less expensive and less crowded in the parks and hotels. We only had to hunker down for one hurricane (Irma) in the All-Star Music hotel. (My grandfather was not happy with us!) Anyway, that's a story for a different time. With some context out of the way, on to the story.

On this particular day, my mom and I were in Magic Kingdom. We did not have tickets for the Halloween party and actually have never been before. I believe the park stays open until 7:00pm to guests that aren't attending this event. The weather had been pretty good throughout the day. A rain shower here, some cloud coverage there, but overall, not too bad. We left the park a hair early to avoid the mass exodus of the park. We made it to our bus stop for the hotel we were at and while waiting, we saw people decked out. Witches, Disney characters, princesses, makeup, Jedis, heavy looking costumes, etc. Once the bus arrived, we drank in the glorious A/C when, (whoosh) a literal wall of water began falling from the sky. The heaviest rain I have ever seen. We felt so bad realizing all of those people were right in the middle of it all dressed up. Little did we know, this was just the beginning of our rain-soaked journey.

So, even though we were "safe" for a bit, the streets were pretty flooded, and we still had to make it to our room. Once at the hotel, the rain had slowed. We felt confident enough to pick up our dinner and walk back to our room. With dinner trays in hand, Mickey ears on, the rain came down once more. We had to trudge slowly back to our room, in ankle deep, cold, water. Let's just say, we saw the light at the end of tunnel when our room number came into view.

All in all though, I've learned I could go to Disney rain or shine, I just LOVE being there. When it's blazing hot though, that's a different story. Do you have any crazy Disney stories? Leave them in the comments. Until Next Time. Bye!

Lesson Learned: As a good friend says, in the rain sugar melts but s**t floats. Basically, even in the rain, you'll be fine.
