Storybook Dining

So, a few weekends ago, my mom, boyfriend, and I went to Storybook dining at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This was for my birthday, and it was fantastic! Enjoy!
This is a Disney dining experience I have wanted to try for many years. It was better than I expected and I didn't want to leave once it was over. To start, the setting of course, was a magical forest. With beautiful, colorful lights woven throughout the trees. On all the tables were these gorgeously sculpted tree center pieces for our shareable appetizers and desserts. On to my favorite part......the FOOOOOOD!
Storybook has a prefixed dining menu. So, you get all three appetizers, choice of entree, and all three desserts. The appetizer we all enjoyed was the Hunter's Harvest. It was a sweet, savory, slightly tangy meatball with a palatable texture. Our entrees were all different. My boyfriend ordered the beef stroganoff. This came with shaved beef, these perfectly wide, chewy noodles, and massive chunks of parmesan. My mom had the "fall of the bone" pork shank with a red wine, cherry sauce, polenta, and spinach. And I got the fish of the day, which was salmon atop a creamy white wine risotto, with sunflower seeds giving it the perfect crunch, and veggies. Each one was so delicious! Then came the desserts. The cookies and cream panna cotta had the perfect Oreo flavor, the cherry tart was warm, crunchy, with a lovely marshmallow top, and the "poison" apple was the most aesthetic of the trio having a sour apple center giving the covering of chocolate a nice zing!
Since it was my birthday, I was presented with a Mickey shaped dark chocolate mousse cake with chocolate rocks (haven't had those in years) as well as Dopey making me some adorable chocolate mousse tarts.
Next up are the characters and staff. Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen were all there. Everyone had a special dance besides the Evil Queen; she had her own photo spot though. The other three walked to each table and chatted/took photos. My boyfriend played a game of rock, paper, scissors with Dopey and was immediately defeated! The miner chose rock, what can you say? Snow White was so sweet and invited us over for some gooseberry pie. And Grumpy was Grumpy, which was great! Our waiter, Johnathan was fantastic and so helpful, everyone was so kind and happy.
All around this was an amazing dining experience. I would highly recommend, though it is pricey, but Disney usually is. What's your favorite dining experience, Disney or not? Let me know below. Until next time. Bye!
